Funny ouy should mention this, I`ve been looking for a new one for a while and was gonna drop a thread on this myself, good on yer!
I`m on an old Olympus mju digital, tough and reliable as I got tired of lugging all the SLR bobbins with me. although my beloved has a Canon EOS digital which I sometimes play with but not practical for traveling light lure/fly seshes.
I think I`m gonna get a canon S5 IS extended zoom digital compact that does everything and have done with it when i`m a bit flusher, looks the nuts and was reccomended in one of the weeklies recently.
I got right into photography back in the day, you have great opertunities when fishing for fantastic pics

yeh you can't beat that early morning shot sun just breaking through and mist rolling of the surface, the kind of morning that always brings up an image of tench fishing next to a patch o lillies in my mind.
i know a few lads who use the canon G5 powershot with the flip screen for self takes but i just like my slr _________________ Kiss my spreader block!!!!!!!!!!

I used to love my SLR, but it got silly with all the add-ons, lenses and the like but these days digitals are so good and so cheap and you can have your trophy shot as soon as you`re home too......... I can`t see my way back to 35mm!
The canon I`ve seen has the flip screen for the self portraits (which is lucky as the lad who I fish with is complete sh*te at taking the pics!...) and the plan is to get a ton of memory too for the videos too, plus it takes simple AA batteries so easily obtainable wherever you are.

I'm all digital nowadays. I've got a Minolta SLR that's the dogs but it's just too bulky. A Minolta 35mm bit bigger than a ciggy packet 3x optical zoom compact. A Kodak 3.1 Mega Pixel 1MB digital for those quick and dirty drain fishing sessions in the piss down rain.
But now I have a Sony...........10x optical zoom, 8x digital zoom, Video, Sound, (MP4), 4GB memory all singing all dancing camera. And a packet of ciggys look massive next to it. No more 35mm for me. _________________ I can see NSA staff getting a bitch slapping from the boss for pissing about with my signature!
