What are your plans once the rivers close? Gaah

I thought about persisting with pike but with the mild weather I think a couple more trips then onto something else.

My idea at the moment are revolving around bream and tench. I just can't seem to get interested in carp for some reason. I don't have the kit for long sessions (not even a bedchair to my name) but all day or late afternoon through to morning would be acheivable. I have not had a double figure bream so I'm tempted.

I think this will keep me busy 'til the river open.

Tench I`m gonna have a good stab at not so bothered about the snotties!
(Any info on some decent Tench spots PM pls!!) We are not worthy!
I really want to go fairly traditional and go back to basics too, it must be 10yrs since I went trying for anything other than Pike or Bass with the float, so gonna have a few of them Mr Crabtree type sessions at dawn with the float, also go for some mixed bags to keep it interesting.
Spring for me means fly fishing too and our friend the speckled vermin! so I`ll be on the trout syndicate a good bit too chucking some fluff as well as trips elsewhere such as stocks res and the washburns.
As ever the toothies won`t be far from my mind and will continue to go for them with the lures and as the weather warms up move on to the ultralights(may even use them to do some "trout" fishing on the rivers as its usually within the rules i.e. fly, worm or artificial lures and they are trout size!) and in my opinion the most exciting freshwater fishing there is - surface lures!
A trip to Ireland is planned April time (Pike!) as is a trip to Yarmouth in May (don`t ask!) which will mean meeting up with a mate down there and having a dabble on his local lakes for some lure action and as we`re stopping nearly on the beach I may just start this summers planned Bass campaign early if they`re in.
I may have a go for some mud suckers on my local canal too for an odd eve sesh there are a good few about running to about 20lb and nobody goes for them at all and they did used to be quite obliging.
Open to any offers too!

carp all the way for me now i dont do an awful lot on the rivers i was single minded carp for a good few yrs but realised i missed out on some good fishing for other species. Got a couple of local waters to get a few out of then when the rivers open again i want my first barbel and i'll prob have a coupke of trips perch livebaiting but mainly carp.

And the 2 big mirrors that boothies pictured with on the site are both on my hitlist
