FAQ's for when posting on NSA and a few things that you may not have seen on other forums.

1) How do I add an image to my post?

Using the image shack link above simply browse for the image using Image shack to find the image on your hard drive. Next choose the correct output size for what you need. Use the message boards size for all posted images. This both saves screen loading time on the forum and means it fits on one screen. When you make your new post simply click on the "Img" button at the top of the reply box to get [img] to appear in your post. Then cut the DIRECT LINK TO IMAGE address from image shack and paste it next to [img]. Next press the "Img" button again to get [/img] after your images address. At this point you just need to add your text and the image will apear in your post.

2) How do I add a custom Avatar?

Again using image shack load the image from your hard drive same as in FAQ no'1 but this time choose the avatar output size. You then go into your profile and this time just paste the direct link into the avatar URL box.

3) Below my new post I see an option to upload files what is this for and what restrictions are there?

phpBB let us upload small files to our posts however if we upload big files it will rapidly slow down our site. For this reason if you want to share something with the other members such as a Word or PDF document for example this is fine to upload. For obvious reasons we have limited the file size that you can upload to avoid these problems. If you need to share a larger file read on.

4) Uploading bigger files.

Above you will see the link to SaveFile this works just the same as image shack where you upload your file to SaveFile's server. This time to add the link to the file on NSA you need to click the "URL" button in your post to give you [url]. You then paste in the link from SaveFile (only one option this time) and press the "URL" button again to add the link to your post.

5) My links look messy and too long in my posts how can I tidy them up?

Well there are two ways to do this one is to use the Tiny URL link above but by far the neatest is to get used to using BBCode.
when you use the URL button in your post do the following
[url="type or paste the link address here"] Type here what you want to be displayed in your post e.g. click here then hit the URL button again to add the [/url]

6) I use the BBCode buttons but my links or images don't appear?

If you want to use BBCode do not check the disable BBCode or Disable HTML buttons below your new post. If your links or images don't appear edit your post to check BBCode and HTML is enabled before contacting a staff member.

Tips for using BBCode

1)
[url=insert web address here][img] insert image shack link here[/img][/url] will give you an image as a link check Shrews shop logo underneath all of his posts as an example. You can use this code in your personal signature in your profile too its not just available to staff.

2)
color=white (in square brackets) followed by your text then /color in square brackets (i cant type the brackets here or you wouldn't see the code method just bright white text) Any text in between the "color" and "/color" brackets will appear as bold bright text in the post. Just like the links at the top.

The Rules of NSA

1) No direct attacks on other members
2) No adult only content to be posted or uploaded to the forum
3) No linking to innapropriate sites e.g. pornographic, illegal sites
4) Files uploaded to the site must be copyright free
5) Files shared via Save File and Image Shack are not regulated by NSA so you are bound by Save File's T&C's. NSA will not accept any responsibility for members use of hosting sites in an innapropriate manner.
6) Persistent failure to follow site rules may result in your account being suspended for review or in extreme cases deleted.
7) Any member found to be under the age of 13 will have their accounts deleted as soon as discovered as per the terms of our forum host.
8) It is also your responsibility with regards to protecting NSA (your site) by reporting anyone who is in breach of rule No'7 above to NSA site admin. This will also be strictly confidential.
9) The most important rule of all "GET POSTING AND ENJOY THE SITE"
