Hi,
First thread on what I hope will become a useful website. Only moved to the NW last year so still finding my feet regarding places to go etc. etc.
Anyway, I brought some very good quality dry hemp from THE BAIT KITCHEN last w/e (great shop with loads of stuff and info, worth a visit). Can anyone tell me the best way to flavour it. Spicy flavours for the winter and fruity flavours if hemp will take them. Is it best to flavour before cooking whilst soaking or after cooking before freezing??
Thanks _________________ damo

you can add flavourings whilst cooking, the thing is, fish just love hemp how it is. its got its own natural oils and flavour so i would`nt add any to it. spicing it up with chilli powder or flakes can work well.
some people add salt to hemp when cooking but i always add this after as i find if its put in befor it stops the hemp from splitting.. :)

heres a few tips, when i make hemp i put in a flask of boiling water over night and add my flavorings usually the little bottles you get for around 25p for a small bottle easy to stock up on and loads of flavors to choose from, as for spicing things up i like to add dried peices of chilli which add flavor throughtout the night _________________ Beep...
