Hi guys,

I know I have a comprehensive list of lures in my tackle box when it comes to my Pike fishing, but always find myself going back to the ones I trust and have the battle scars to prove it. Lures come in many forms as we all know from a plug to a spoon, a popper to a spinner. I recon it's time to share some inside info on what works when and where with some photos too so members can buy similar patterns if like some of my lures they have been discontinued ( Banging Head ). After all we can share this information because we're not Barbel anglers Grin

Giles.

Running for my camera now to start the ball rolling Very Happy

Yo Giles!
GOOD TOPIC, as I am a sucker for lures!
If it was down to one for pike i would go for rainbow trout springdawg, however wouldn`t be without mag-grubs, spinner & buzzbaits, soft shads and various Rapalas-usually with green and yellow scoring high.
For Perch and Chub(not done well with chub at all yet) I love ultralight fishing with all lures but in mini. But I`ve caught many good perch whilst after pike with mid-sized alphabet types (Big S style) really erratic tadpolly/kwikfish types and panthermartin spinners in firetiger
my all time most successful lure is an all berkeley like half big S half soft- love to get hold of some more of em
Pics to follow too!

Think i got it here goes,
These two are both consistant catchers both for Pike and perch even the little `un has caught loads of pike which contridicts the modern trend of hernia giving plugs!

But I thought I`d add this one too, looking for above lures was like lookin for a pube in an afro!
FACT; lures catch more anglers than fish!

I think we need a new section for the forum, just for you:

LA "Lures Anonymous" to assist you with your lure problem Grin

you may well joke!

but admitting the problem is a start, isn`t it? I think we should also start a support group!
Or at least a NSA plug chucking/lie telling session? But thanks for being here, northern anglers version of the priory! Clapping

In my defence I have been an avid lure fanatic for a good few yrs- I can only imagine how far it would`ve gotten if i`d not cooled off for a bit!!

When i get more time I`ll try and get through them and post some more, even some Bass (they swim in the sea i know but they are the ultimate UK lure target) lures if anyone is interested(?)

OK NSA members this is a call from two lure whores to post your lure collection here (but only the ones that work). If you are found to be posting sh*tty lure photos that "looked good when you bought them" e.g. shiny and with hooks (Magpie syndrome) you will be refered to the NSA LA (lures anonymous) team who won't give you bugger all help but maybe make you feel a bit better about blowing your wad over the "NEW" killer lure that doesn't really work!
