I will be using this blog to keep a detailed account of my angling through the coming months. I will be testing the new Winter Pellet from NSA baits on all venues i fish in some shape or form, be it small bags of crushed down pellet, scattered freebies or a big bed of the stuff i will be incorporating it into my angling and reporting it back on here. (hopefully with a few pics of fish along the way)
My main venue will be the Carp Crazy Syndicate lake, an intimate venue of around 2.5 acres in size with depths of 2.5 to 6 feet. This is by no means an easy venue and has not produced many fish of late. I have 3 target fish i would love to bank from this venue, the Peach a mirror of around 25lb, Bertha a Common with lovely 2 tone colours of around 26lb and Big Mac the Lake Record Mirror of 30lb 8oz. I will be baiting this lake little and often through the winter and hopefully at some point i will have the rewards to show...Only time will tell.
Other venues i plan to fish through the Winter are Fairview and i may do the odd session on Raker.
Fairview:
I managed to get down to Fairview on the 5th of November for 48 hours. On arrival only one other angler was present so i had plenty of time to have a look around.
I eventually settled on a swim known as Summerbay as this placed me on the back of a cold wind and gave me plenty of water with a nice right hand margin and varying depths from 8ft to 12ft across the peg.
Not knowing the lake as it was my first visit to the venue i opted to take it easy with the bait, this decision was helped in the knowledge that a competition had been held over the weekend and with it being Monday morning i was pretty sure that a fair amouint of bait would still be present.
I opted to fish small bags on all 3 rods my right to the margin under some cover, my middle infront of the peg to 10ft of water and my left toward the centre of the lake at 11ft depth.
The bags consisted of crumbed down NSA Winter Pellet and crushed Boilie. The hookbait was a 10mm snowman presentation.
I managed 4 fish in total and lost one during the 48 hours, a pleasing result as only 5 fish in total were banked during my stay.
Fairview is a cracking venue and Irv the Owner and Wayne a regular on the fishery could not have been more helpful - Free pie and peas and a fireworks display is not bad hospitality!
I will be emailing the pics to Giles so hopefully they will be in here soon. (Sorted Giles.)
Cheers
Ian

Well, have been baiting the syndicate with the pellet for a while now hoever nothing has been caught from the lake throughout november and its been slow.
I have managed a tench from one of the baited areas but havi ng watched a few of the carp at the weekend its clear they are just not playing the game at the moment.
Wayne met me at the weekend while i was at work to drop off some boilie and to be honest the service is first class from the lads, Wayne going out of his way to meet me so thanks again for that.
I will keep you posted on the results, back on fairview on the 16th so looking forward to getting back there and the carp crazy syndicte is having some new carp stocked on the 6th of december so i hope this picks up the results for me there.
Tight lines
Ian
