Hi lads,

Im currently helping out with a bit of fieldtesting for NSA and will also be using alot of there products in the near future.

I'll basicaly keep the Blog up to date with all my findings, captures and thoughts on the baits i use. This will ensure the lads at NSA baits get a valid opinion and can offer a complete service and most of all, you guys get a solid and honest opinion.

My fishing is made up of 2 - 3 sessions per week through out the year. 70% of my fishing is overnighters no more than 12hours. with the rest made up of long 3-4 day sessions. i fish various different waters from small 2acre silt pits up to 50acre gravel pits. some very low stock and hard waters some are have a high stock and classed as easy.

This will give you a good insight to how different baits are going, short and long term effect. baiting situations, various weather. 30 degrees or minus 10. just about most of the fishing situations you will come across in the UK.

Even do a bit with the quiver rod on the rivers so see how it fair with other species.

Will keep you guys informed, tight lines Wink

Well guys i have been very busy of late so not much fishing to report.

As always i have managed to keep the bait going on a regular basis. the 2 main waters i have been baiting have seen plenty of the NSA winter pellet and the fish have responded well, normaly through winter i dont use pellet unless in small PVA bags. Particle and boilie approach have been my only productive methods through winter campaigns.
My ussual pellet approach is done using some very reliable makes that have a proven track record so it is good to see how these pellets are holding up against the NSA stuff from Autum through to winter and then into spring.

I have, has previously said, been baiting with pellet for the past 3 weeks. NSA pellet and my ussual pellet or pellet 'X' as i will refer to it.

on my local i have introduced the NSA pellet on known productive spots on its own , the pellet was instantly accepted, the spot swhere visited on a regualr basis and on many occasions i found that the fish would still be in the area for long periods of time after the bait had gone. The NSA pellet as a very fast breakdown and leaves a very fine powder that when disturbed clouds and disperses through the water colum, well above the lake bed. This seems to hold the fish in the area and grazing through the area for longer periods of time due to the suspended particles.

I have also noticed that the bait blends with alot of lake beds and typical feeding spots, one of my favorite areas in one of my local waters is a very deep silt pocket, this tends to cloud naturaly when fish feed on it but in tha past when placing any amount of bait on the area it makes the silt act very unatural and spooks the carp, particles tend to hold the silt down and reduce the natural cloud which as led to me only fishing a small amount of bait in the past which hinders the amount of fish you can hold on the spot.
NSA pellet as proved to be very helpfull due to the fact that it breaks down as fine as silt giving a longer attraction period to the spot and keeps the fish not only in the swim for longer but they are more off guard.

This is one of situation of many that i have applied the bait to good effect and so far im very pleased with results i will keep you posted on the other feeding situations and my fishing.

One thing i am experimenting with is adding flavours such as tutti or Plum, these will work perfectly in pva bag situations where you want high attraction around your hook bait but very little food.

Keep you informed boys, tight lines Very Happy

Hi all...

Ive been very busy of late and still stuck with a cold that i think ive had for nearly a year Gaah

I have still managed a few trips out and have kept appling the bait to various waters. even though ive now run out. Sad

After my last post i mainly concentrated my fishing to a local venue, the weather turning bad as dictated how far i can get and more to the point the chance of any fish...i have been feeding the pellet into 1 certain area of this water in small amounts, sprinkles of pellet and boillie on a regualr basis have alway worked on this venue. since my application of the bait people have started to notice the fish are holding more to that area and tend not to be venturing too far away. I managed a quick overnighter 2 weeks ago which resulted in a very crazy feeding spell savage liners for an hour then 2- 3 runs resulting in fish on the bank, always welcome on a winters night.

The NSA pellet is an extremely fast break down even in the coldest conditions and sits on the bottom like a very fine ground bait untill disturbed. it makes for an excelent groundbait and spod addition but as the situations changed it required a small pva bag approach and more fruity type of hookbait to provide a small package of instant high attraction.
I messed around with the pellet breaking it back down to a fine powder and using it as the whole pellets (though they are quite large) but have found the best approcah is to place a small amount of the pellet in a small mixing bucket or plastic bag and add some of the flavours you would like to use, then allow the pellet to break down into a mush.

As i have spoken about before the NSA pellet as been readily accepted in the waters i have introduced it into and it has very good charictaristics for a usable winter pellet, but things can always be tweaked....this will work in Summer as well as Winter but for the last few sessions out i have been using a pop up and single bait approach using either a pineaple or fruity Flavoured bait and as explained above have been breaking the NSA pellet down using a matching flavour. The Dynamite Flavours such as the Pineaple one have worked well for this but anything your using should be fine as long as its PVA freindly.

I start off by using a handfull of pellet, then adding the flavours in small amounts and allowing the pellet to break down not too fine but so it is like a sludge. The pellet during the break down will soak up all the flavour. and if you get it to the right consistancy, should compress lovely in the stocking type PVA. what you get from this is a Stick mix that will explode, release tonnes of initial atttrataction but as the water takes its normal effect on the pellets it will carry on to break down ito the fine powder and disperse through the water colum leaving a trial of attration that matchs your hookbait.

This type of Technique is obviously not new but provides you with an alternative use for this extremley versitile pellet, its like the scolded pellet technique but with out the hotwater and mess and you can mess around with the flavours. Remeber this works better if the pellet is not broken down to much with the attractor and allow it time to absorb the flavour.

Obviously the Pellet seems to be working quite well in it own right, it would benefit from having various sizes of pellet and maybe a powder version of the pellet to use as a groundbait additive. but looking closely at my results with the added flavours i think there is maybe room for doing a range of this pellet with a standard flavour built in, Tutti, Pineaple, Cream, Cajouser....etc.

I keep refering to the pellet as a winter pellet but obviously it will work all year round, i know it will deffo be a spod mix for my spring and summer outings.

Will keeep you informed over the next few weeks and hopefully i will be able to get you some pics up of the situations talked about......need some more pellet first though Very Happy Wink

Cya and have a good X-mas. Clapping

Welcome to 2008 Wink

Happy new year everyone, know its a bit late but as usual ive been busy. It’s been a push but i have managed to sneak a few sessions in here and there on a few day ticket waters and do plenty of planning for my new campaigns.

My few sessions have produced few fish and unlike most this time of year I have found myself using a bit of bait, either just bollie or various different particle and pellet combos. People seem to believe that fish stop feeding at this time of year and will only take a flouro high attract bait.......I beg to differ.....I have caught more on the baits I use in summer during the winter months than I ever have on a "winter Bait" the reason being is that I only use a quality bait and something that is digestible and nutritional. confidence in bait this time of year is everything, i can’t even count the amount of times i have swapped and changed baits through the year, especially winter, and seen my results suffer.

Once you have a Bait you are happy with that offers the digestibility and nutritional value a carp require then I do suggest you stick with it, I have one standard boillie that I use year round, and maybe 3-4 sorts of Pop ups that I carry around with me each to suit a different job, once you have confidence like that you can spend more time on making it work......but that just the half of your bait armoury.

Pellets and particles come into there own and have many different uses in my angling, not only do they supply you with a cheap bulk up for spod mix's or PVA bag work but they help with prebaiting, creating feeding spots and feeding situations. The NSA pellet I have been testing has proved to be very useable in all situations, when im starting on a new water I like to do a bit of prebaiting and also use pellets in an attempt to get smaller fish to clear areas of chod and weed, with the NSA pellet this seems even easier to achieve, when introducing the pellet to a weeded area the weight of the pellet helps flatten the weed, after an initial breakdown you begin to see it cover a fair few layers of the weeded area and different depths, due to its powder like breakdown and its attractiveness the smaller fish find it easier to eat and you can see a spot be cleared fairly quickly. This is one of the things that i will be using this pellet for this year as well as the other use's I have highlighted in my previous posts. this has also raised alot of attention from a few of my angling pals who have found the pellet perfect for there needs this year and ive no doubt will be putting plenty of it to good use.

Like I said i have been out for a few sessions and i have been using the pellet in conjunction with my standard bait and rigs, one such session i have just come back from was to a local runs water, me and a couple of the lads went for a social and a bend in the rod, i decided to fish one rod on Pellet X and one rod on NSA pellet. same amount of bait to 2 spots and same rigs and hook bait. the first night finished with 5 runs from the NSA pellet rod and none on the other. one of the lads scored 1 run. after a quick talk the next morning and a bacon buttie, we decided to move to another lake on the complex, this time i allowed both of my fishing buddies to pick swims and leave me the remaining swim, i then did the same as the night before, one rod over about 4kilo of pellet X and one rod over 4 Kilo of NSA pellet. that night i received 20+ runs off the NSA pellet and 3 runs over the other pellet, my 2 friends received........Nothing....not a single Bleep..it was clear that the NSA bait was attracting alot more fish and creating a more aggressive feeding behaviour......savage liners and savage takes.

The more i use this pellet and see the reaction it gets, not just from carp but other species, the more confident i am with it, and that’s the key for me when starting my campaigns, this year the NSA pellet will be used in many different ways for me in total confidence...

Keep you all informed and i do promise to put some pics up very soon. Very Happy
