PMSL!!

I had a breakthru last night.........."let me have a look at the Ocean Kayak brochure, so which one do you think I should get then?" Success!

She`s getting the Caper angler edition Grin

just got to sort the finances and I`m away!

www.anglersafloat.com BTW giles! Clapping

My opinion on all this is, if you like to diversify and do something completely different, possibly eccentric, adventurous, exciting and fun, then this looks like its the thing for you! probably too expensive for a dabblers! I believe completely revolutionary in what it is and stands for and give scope like no other type of fishing in the UK for adventure, mobility and freedom and in that way unique. Since I`ve been doing my research and getting involved on the kayak fishing forums I`ve had no end of support (second only to the NSA!) and help. Loads of socials and meets up and down the country are going on all the time and I for one can`t wait to get going! Pike, perch, trout, etc in the Lakes and on the ouse bass, mackerel and flatties and stuff on the coast and a great big excuse to get away on weekends! No matter where you go the crowds will rarely if ever be a problem.................perfect Cool

It was good to meet up with Marc today! He is just as friendly and almost as well adjusted as his emails and posts suggest thought he is taller than he writes. Shocked We were able to get a good close look at the kayaks we are interested in and after long and careful deliberation the Ocean Kayak Big Game Prowler is the one for me and himself too! Very Happy

The "group buy" enabled us to negotiate the best offer to date. I am bidding on one on eBay which ends on Wednesday so I will either own a very cheap olive green one or a reasonably priced orange, yellow or wheat coloured one. Now that I am even closer to getting sorted out I am looking forward to getting ono the water.

I am going to be heading to the lakes to give it a maiden voyage. What fish would you target first? I am thinking PIKE!

Cheers, Ken

I concur, although need to speak to you about add-ons and what you`ve got (anchors & system, bouys, extras you ordered) I`m thinking of getting them all in well before and having a rigging up day the saturday before the sunday maiden voyage trip to the lakes!!

Sounds like a plan. Very Happy I have already worked out my own way to rig a quick release for the anchor. I haven't seen it anywhere on the forums so if it works and there's no reason why it shouldn't I will let others know about it.

Marc

The most important thing is that they are about half the UK price and available in one place.

At the moment I am talking to a good friend of mine in Texas who is a knife and bright (torch) dealer about setting up in the angling business. She has some great contacts among larger suppliers like Moteng and is able to sell most items to me for 30% less than USA retail. Considering that they can retail at about 70% of Uk retail this represents a huge saving even taking into account the shipping costs from the States.

It might be something to consider in the future for specialised items. As things are now, I can order any Scotty items you want and will have my mate ship them to me/you.

Cheers, Ken

Any time Sir!

This is a list of the suppliers she can buy from at the moment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

www.moteng.com (nice catalog site showing MSRP)
www.jboutman.com (Nice site that shows stock info)
www.rsrgroup.com (good for gun and shooting accessories)
www.cfiarms.com
www.midwestgunexchange.com
http://www.knesekguns.com/
http://blueridgeknives.com/?BISKIT=2458824100&CONTEXT=cat&cat=45 (you can see the brands)
www.mercworx.com
www.deepakcutlery.com (mainly good to see brands)
www.maxpedition.com
www.actiongear.com
www.jimcut.com

These sites might give you an idea of the things I am into. One of my friends in Norway is also able to get hold of any type of brights you are interested in at excellent prices. Sorry, this is starting to sound like I am trying to get sales for friends. I am only trying to let you know what is available and how much can be saved......if you choose to. Wink I'll shut up now.

Regards, Ken

where were you 12months ago!

could`ve saved a fortune, after a small gransfors or wetterlings and the cooking gear for the bigger kelly kettle, and perhaps other items in that sort of vein for our little adventures, me and the one who must be obeyed are engineering our summers playtime!

see how things go this week but i`ll get in touch and have a chat, could do with ordering the kayak stuff first

I don't know about becoming an expert but I'm going to have a bloody good time learning! Grin

I am going to get as much time in kayak fishing as I can because like every other pass time I have enjoyed it won't be long before some sod tries to regulate it in some way.

Regards, Ken
